Meet Theme Auto
A team of people who make insurance make sense.
We're insurance specialists, writers, support advisors and product people who share one belief: coverage should sound like a human explanation, not a contract.
For five years we've built our own Auto, Health and Travel insurance around that idea. We explain what matters, answer the questions people actually ask and make the next step clear.

What customers say after talking to us, not before.
What customers have taught us to notice
Over five years, recurring customer questions have helped us notice where insurance communication tends to become harder than it needs to be.
No surveys or statistics here. Just patterns we've learned to pay attention to, and keep in mind every time we explain something.
People often know the situation, not the term.
Someone can understand exactly what changed in their life, their car or their trip without knowing the insurance word for it. That's a perfectly good place to start.
The first question isn't always the final question.
Once one point becomes clear, people can often see the next thing they actually need to understand. So we leave room for that second question.
More information isn't automatically clearer information.
A long explanation can still leave someone unsure where to begin. Structure matters as much as the words themselves.
People want to know what happens next.
An explanation is more useful when it points somewhere practical, rather than ending at a dead end.
Small questions are still real questions.
Nobody should have to decide whether something sounds “important enough” before asking it.
The rules we keep for ourselves
Our friendly way of communicating is deliberate. It makes information easier to approach. But friendly never gets to replace useful. If a detail matters, it stays in.
These are the working rules we hold our own writing, pages and conversations to. Select one to see what it means in practice.
Don't make someone decode the first sentence.
Lead with the point people recognise. The technical detail can follow once the main idea is clear.
Don't hide an important detail just to make something sound simple.
Clarity and completeness should support each other. If a condition matters, it stays in the explanation.
Explain a term when the term is useful.
We don't assume people know insurance vocabulary. We also don't swap a precise word for a vague one. Use the term, then say what it means.
Keep related information together.
Nobody should have to assemble one explanation from pieces scattered across different places.
Leave a clear way forward.
Useful information helps someone see what they can look at, or ask about, next.
Friendly is the tone. Useful is the job.
The company we're building
We're still building Theme Auto, and we like it that way. Here's what we want to keep getting better at as the company grows. One thing at a time.
The tools can change. The questions can change. The standard stays simple: make the important part easier to understand.
-
Making useful information easier to find.
-
Smoother paths between questions, plan information and real people.
-
Listening for the questions that keep coming up.
-
Presenting insurance details more clearly on screen.
-
Keeping our communication human as we grow.
